WordPress 4.0 does not import Excel tables

This is a long story (actually two long stories cut short) and I had mentioned it in another forum but was told to mention it here.

I have not blogged since Feb 2013 as my blogging sites were under daily heavy attacks by hackers and bad bots and scanners and scrappers – so I had to take some time off to develop anti hacking software to block spiders, creepy crawlies, scrappers, …. hackers from attacking my sites. …A very long time and by then WordPress had upgraded from 3.5.x to 3.9.1.

Now that’s finished I came back to blogging on my “Bread Diaries” blog and found that WordPress stopped importing Excel tables into my blog articles. Initially, to compensate for this, I was capturing the picture of my recipe tables – items, ingedients, weight, …, and pasting the image into my article.

I found that WordPress has definitely lost its ability to convert Excel spreadsheet tables to HTML. So I checked around and found two alternatives online converters.

Both do an amazing job of converting Excel tables into HTML which is then pasted into your WordPress article in ‘TEXT’ edit mode.

And NO it does not work with WordPress Version 4.0 either. Would WordPress be bring back the ability to import Excel tables and convert them to HTML any time soon or have they decided to scrap the feature.
