WordPress 4.0 Issues – Tried All Suggested Solutions

  • Hi there!

    I know there have been endless posts regarding issues with the WordPress 4.0 update. I’ve read them all (including the 4.0 Master List) and tried all the suggested solutions, yet nothing seems to work for me.

    I am unable to add media or links to my posts. I am unable to switch between Visual and Text editors when writing a post. I am unable to Live Preview any themes.

    I’ve cleared my browser cache.
    I’ve disabled my plugins.
    I’ve updated the All In One SEO Pack plugin.
    I’ve tried using the Twenty Fourteen theme.
    I’ve tried logging in on 3 different browsers.

    Still no luck. Can anyone please advise on other solutions for this issue. I’m very limited at the moment and can’t really post anything.

    Bluehost was able to restore my image library and theme view last night but now I’ve lost the ability to edit the widget area.

    Hi there I had some similar issues especially the visual editor.
    It turned out that my website had been hacked and weird script was being inserted at the top of lots of javascripts. Run a scan on Securi to rule that out maybe. Check for any weird looking code in the page source.

    That’s it – my site has been hacked. There is a new line in every .js file of the parent and child themes I use. That’s the very first line, same in all files.
