I’ve had multiple missed schedule posts since upgrading to WordPress 4.0, beginning with the RCs and continuing with the stable release version. In many cases there were multiple posts scheduled at the same time and only 1 of them missed. In addition other scheduled tasks, specifically backups via Backup Buddy, run on schedule. This leads me to believe it’s not a standard issue of nothing activating the cron jobs. I didn’t have this issue on 3.9.x.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions for fixing? I’ve begun scheduling test posts and documenting results on the site experience the issues, ajorel.com.

I’m using 4.0 with multisite and multinetwork, PHP 5.5.16, with no caching plugins installed.

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • I’ve had some success getting around the problem by using WordPress’s alternative cron feature, documented here:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Alternative_Cron

This method appears not to work if the scheduled post is still open for editing when the publication time is reached. However it appears to be a sufficiently reliable solution for me at the moment.

Still, it would be preferable to work out what exactly caused some of scheduled posts to stop publishing at the correct time to begin with.

This just started happening to me! I have no idea what a “cron” is or how to even find wp-config.php on my dashboard.

Can someone please, please help me fix this!? It’s becoming very annoying.

    Thanks ??

@happyhealthfreak – hope you are not using WP4.0 – since that’s what this thread references and because it works MUCH better, please start your own thread and include relevant info in your thread –

I also had this problem with posts not publishing while scheduled. Then I noticed that in WordPress: settings I had my time settings on UTC+1 at that moment it was 12:05 (daylight savings time in Amsterdam) but my WordPress told me 11:05. I changed the setting to Amsterdam instead of UTC+1 and noticed the time was now correct. I did a test with a new scheduled post set to 1 minute in the future and it then published perfectly. I am not sure if the problem is completely solved now but just wanted to share this, maybe it can be of any help to you too.

I’m having same problems. So there is really no deep rooted fix to this? only a “cover fix” by using that plugin? ??

Is using a plugin or all kinds of coding really the only answers? Where are the WP support people? This needs to be fixed ASAP.
