WordPress 4.2 slower?

Has it seemed to anyone else that WP 4.2 is now running slower on the back end, particularly when interacting with the database? I know there have been reports with respect to specific plugins (WooCommerce IIRC), and I know the new version handles taxonomies differently as well as adding emojis and other elements not previously in it.

If there is some slowdown tradeoff that got factored in in exchange for other changes and improvements, are there workarounds?

Just trying to track down a post 4.2 problem that’s not obvious.
