    Hi Bjarne,

Thanks for the reminder. It has not. I’ll plan to try and get that done this weekend.

Looking at the high level changes listed out, there are a few things that may end up being relevant to DG.

I’ll update this post once the tests have been done.

Thank you so much! Looking forward to give WP 4.6 a spin once themes and plugins are catching up.

    Hi Bjarne,

Just wanted to follow up. Work has me swamped so I didn’t get to testing DG this past weekend, but I will have it tested before the scheduled WP release on the 16th.

Awesome Dan. Don’t stress! ?? I’ll give Document Gallery a spin on a WP 4.6 test site once released and report back.

On 4.6 when I load a document gallery in the admin editor the loading bar animation just stays loading and never shows the document thumbnails. I checked the browser console and there are no error.

On the front-end the documents show fine with PDF icons.

@reason8 – I guess you should post a new support request regarding the loading bar animation, this one has been marked resolved.

(that said, I experience bar animation too, but always have – never occurred to me as an issue. Best guess its a theme conflict)

    reason8 (and Bjarne),

Is this still the case in DG version 4.2.4 (released this week)? An issue was addressed with these exact symptoms.

This is what I get, everything else is working fine image

Interesting. And you are confirming that this is with the 4.2.4 update? Those are definitely the same symptoms as an issue addressed in 4.2.4, but maybe it’s a different cause.

What browser are you in? If you hit F12 (this should open the browser debug dialog), then reload the page, are any errors logged in the console?

Hi Dan. Sorry for the short reply, was in a hurry.

Yes. DG 4.2.4, WordPress 4.6 (but experienced the same thing in 4.5.3), PHP 7, Chrome 52

Tested with different Chrome user (no extensions). On a entire different host. With Divi theme and Twenty Sixteen, same results. Upped WordPress memory to 256M made no difference. Did not locate any errors in development console.

If you are interested, I can provide you with a login to a demo site where the issue is reproducible and where you can test any edits you may want to try.

Still – I didn’t even consider this an issue until mentioned here. When I click the pencil, I can edit the gallery just fine, and on the frontend it also works perfectly.

    Best regards
    Bjarne

    Hi Bjarne,

Interesting indeed. Yes, if you could provide a test site that would be very useful.

You can send me credentials privately through my website if you’d like.

Hi Dan. Login info sent. Feel free to experiment, switch themes, replace plugins whatever, its a copy of a dev site. A great day to you ?? Bjarne

    reason8,

On the off chance you’re still subscribed to this thread, I’d love to know whether this is still causing problems for you with the latest DG version.

I’ve been working with Bjarne and we’ve narrowed the issue down to an incompatibility with a plugin used on his site that changes the backend visual editor. Assuming this is not an issue for your setup, I’d like to know if there is another issue floating around we should be aware of.

    -Dan

Hi Dan, yes this site uses Visual Composer as an editor but on this particular page, I am not using the editor only the default page. See: https://dev3.reason8.com.au/cwc/document-library/assembly-diagrams-of-old-models/
