After updating WordPress I found some errors in console in admin and things on many tabs breaking up (I’m using PHP 7.3 but I tried with 5.6 and has same issue).
I have no plugins or anything installed it happens on fresh manual installation without themes and plugins and updated installation (through update tab in wp-admin).

Initially I thought errors were media library only (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/media-library-not-working-26/
) but it seems it’s breaking up many things on backend like theme apperarance/customizer on standard wordpress themes that are bundled as well.
Also it breaks up some plugins if I have them on.

Only fix so far was that I installed WordPress version 5.2.5 and downgraded to PHP5.6.
    I still get:
Uncaught TypeError: wp.media.collection is not a constructor
    in media-audiovideo.min.js

but media and theme customizer seem to be working.

It does seem like an issue that will happen to many people updating wordpress.

    Can someone please help?

    Thanks,

  • If the wordpress is fresh installed, then you can reinstall the wordpress and then check.
Always backup your website before updating the wordpress latest version.

I don’t know what’s wrong with this but I tried tons of WordPress versions and only one that seems to work without this issue is 4.7. no clue what the problem is but it’s always same in media-audiovideo.js

Okay after 3rd ticket to hosting support they fixed it – say it’s outdated MYSQL – didn’t make much sense to me that frontend code will fail because of that – but still I’m just glad it got fixed.

If someone gets this same issue – try asking your hosting to update MYSQL.
