Last night I updated to WordPress Version 5.5 and updated Theme 2010 to version 3.1. Also, updated all pending plugins.

Now I can’t see any media files in the Media / Library page. I have uploaded .png and .pdf files. But neither the new uploads or the older files are visible. The website is showing the old pdf and png files just fine. When I upload a new file, I can copy the URL from the upload confirmation page. When I put that URL into a browser the file appears.

I have searched your forum and see many posts on this type of problem. But not a post on a solution.

The website is hosted on hostmonster. I logged into hostmonster and ran the database verification and repair tools on all of the visible sql databases. All tables were reported as OK.

I have tried Microsoft Edge and Firefox browsers. Same problem.

This needs to be fixed today! I have files to post for this week’s activities.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

    Try to install this plugin

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

With the update to WordPress 5.5, a migration tool known as jquery-migrate will no longer be enabled by default. This may lead to unexpected behaviors in some themes or plugins who run older code.

    Best Regards,

    Dragan,

Thanks! Before I saw your post, I made the following changes.

    1) Went to hostmonster and set php to version 7.3
    2) Turned off the Yoast SEO plugin. I found that on the Dashboard / Site Health Status the status was busy. At the Site Health Screen / Info the Directories and Sizes was busy (spinning circle). When I turned off Yoast SEO, this was no longer busy and the Site Health Status page was also not busy. That page now showed a status.

I now see the files in Media / Library.
