WordPress 5.8 Metaboxes in alphabetical order only

I notice that with the 5.8 update that meta boxes below the main post content area only order in alphabetical order. If one rearranges them into a different order, save and reload the editor the meta boxes are arranged back in alphabetical order.

Not great for setting up an editor on a custom post type for data entry.
