WordPress 5 is not publishing my posts

    Yesterday was the first time using the new WordPress 5.0 and several problems have already surfaced.

    First of all when I attempt to save the draft I get pink bar across the top that says that the “Updating failed” while the little saving cloud is blinking in the right hand corner. Any featured images or tags I use in the post just disappear. However the images inside the post remains. I have tried clearing the cache on the server and the browser without success.

    Second the program will not publish my post. Again, the pink bar across the top reads “publishing failed.” I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. What is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am using an Apple computer and hosted on GoDaddy.

  • I am having the same issue. Ever since 5.0 I can’t publish posts. I also get a red bar error when I try to save edits to a draft. I was able to publish a post by going to “all posts” and publishing a draft through quick edit, but it won’t let me categorize my post or set a featured image or add tags.

    I have also tried clearing both caches. I am using Chrome on Windows 10 and I am hosting on GoDaddy.

    I’m having the same problem. I think it because of the version of PHP. The server I’m looking at is running PHP version 5.2.2. What Version of PHP are you currently running?

    Everything else I have is running PHP 7 except this server. It the only one I have that had any issues with. Working on updating the version of PHP.

    Updated to PHP ver 7.2 and it working fine now.

    I have solved that by reinstalling the WordPress classic editor, and then every thing works fine with me.
