WordPress 6.0/subscribe2

  • Since WordPress got an update to 6.0 subscribe doesn’t work. Or better: The blog doesn’t work. I have to deactivate subscribe2 in the database to get mit blog back. Will there be an update? On the plugin page in the dashboard it says that this plugin is not compatibel with mit WordPress version.

    Thanks in davance for any help/suggestions!

  • I think this plugin is no longer updated. The author no longer responds.

    I have been recommended Email Subscribers and Newsletters by a blogger friend. I haven’t tried it yet, but it has good reviews:

    I read some comments that it is only the trial version, but there is a free one, according to my friend. Maybe that has changed since she told me.

    I’ve tried it, but it doesn’t seem to work properly.
    I’m looking for a simpler plugin: I need it to notify subscribers when I publish a new article or edit it.

    Let me know if you find one. I guess there’s always mailchimp? Has anyone tried that? How would it work?

    Try looking in the WordPress dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new and type the keyword in the field

    After trying out quiet a few plug-ins I now found MailPoet, which seems to be doing what I was looking for.

    MailPoet is recommended for those who have e-commerce and weighs 584mb, which is not cheap.
    Subscribe2 weighs 583kb and is specific for new articles.

    MailPoet and others didn’t word in the end with me (for serveral reasons).

    I now found, that “Easy WP SMTP” (268 kb) together with “Notification” (from BracketSpace, 1.6 MB) ist working on our system.

    Better Notifications for WP works for me, but I am having trouble configuring the Multisite addon.
