Yesterday I changed my WordPress version to 6.7 and now when I edit posts (or even just when trying to test the new WP-2025 theme) I see the warning shown below in all my galleries created using Tiled Gallery:

The block contains unexpected or invalid content.
    Attempt recovery.

Fortunately, the recovery attempt always ends successfully. But in the new theme (2025) such warnings are visible immediately on the first page of the blog, where the new theme inserts the entire entry.

I use the 2022 theme and there are no problems with displaying the Tiled Gallery inside entries.

But even when I use the 2022 theme, now since version 6.7 of WordPress in every entry where there are galleries (Tiled Gallery) I see such warnings.

Is this a Jetpack or rather WordPress problem?

I kindly ask you to take a look at this phenomenon.

    Hi @tripsoverpoland

I tested the Jetpack Tiled Gallery feature using an older theme:

    SCR 20241120 oemv

I then switched to Twenty Twenty-Five and I did not get the block error when opening the post:

    SCR 20241120 ofbb

I suspect the issue here might be a plugin error. Please try disabling all plugins other than Jetpack and then try again. If the issue goes away, you will know it was one of your plugins. At that point, you would want to toggle them on, testing after each one, until you find the one that is responsible for the issue.

Let us know what you find out.

I just tested my plugins and unfortunately the warning effect for Tiled Gallery remains unchanged when editing the post. I also updated WordPress to the latest version 6.7.1, which also did nothing for Tiled Gallery.

I will also add errors detected in the Chrome console when editing an entry:

Maybe that didn’t resonate enough, so an addition – warnings appear in all galleries created in WordPress versions older than 6.7 when trying to edit posts with such galleries (Tiled Gallery). In posts created in WordPress version 6.7 and newer, when trying to edit posts, there are no longer warnings for Tiled Gallery.

    Hi @tripsoverpoland

Thanks for the additional information. To try to replicate this issue, I installed WP v6.6 and added a Jetpack Tiled Gallery:

    SCR 20241123 jmhv

I then upgraded to v6.7 and switched to the TwentyTwentyFive theme and opened the post in the editor:

    SCR 20241123 jnbd

I was able to edit the post without getting the error in the editor.

When you mention that you tested your plugins, did you disable all plugins other than Jetpack and then see if you can edit the post in 6.7 without getting the block error? It’s essential that all plugins other than Jetpack be disabled when testing.

Regarding: “Then I updated to v6.7 and switched to the TwentyTwentyFive theme, and then opened the post in the editor:” – that’s not the point. After switching to version 6.7, I went into the appearance option and briefly launched the 2025 theme preview to check if it would meet my needs, and even then the old entries in the preview, not when editing, gave warnings at the beginning of each tiled gallery. I did not permanently enable the 2025 theme since when I tried to check the operation of this theme, the preview of the old entries showed errors in the tiled gallery. Seeing these errors, I decided to edit the old entry but with the 2022 theme enabled, and here you can already see errors in the tiled gallery, but after confirming the changes in this gallery, they disappear in the editor. Displaying tiled gallery entries in theme 2022 works correctly with both the old entry without tiled gallery modifications and the entry with a committed tiled gallery change.

    Hi @tripsoverpoland

Thanks for the further explanation here and for your patience as we work to reproduce this.

It wasn’t clear to me that you were seeing the issue in the theme preview within the Site Editor. Does the following screenshot show the place where you are having the issue?

    SCR 20241123 lvxz

If I am understanding you correctly, the errors for the Jetpack Tiled Gallery block are showing in this view. Is that right? If not, I think it would help if you can provide screenshots showing the issue so that we can better understand how to reproduce the issue.

    Hi @tripsoverpoland

I found an email about this issue from you in our ticketing system (reference: 9045506). Since we have an open email about this, let’s continue the conversation via email.

I am going to mark this thread as resolved since we’ll continue working on this via email.
