    I am new to WORDPRESS, I really need help with understanding. I ve got domain name, got host, installed WordPress and now loged into my WordPress account. the question – why Site Address (URL) of WordPress is different from my domain and where do I search my website (which address), what address should I enter to see how my website looks. if I enter domain name it give nothing, doesn’t work. Thanks

  • Probably the best place to ask is with your host support as there’s a couple nuances to some WordPress hosts and installs and there’s a bit of info you need to add to your domain records.

    It’s a process where you point your domain to the IP address of the host account itself with a certain record or else tell the domain about the nameservers it should use.

    Then the normal is to tell WordPress about the new domain but there are a few installs where that’s not exactly necessary.

    If for some reason your host can’t help you comeback here and update this thread with a little more info.

    We’ll need to know who your host is and your domain name. From there we can usually help you further but your host can help you faster and is the authority on their service.

    Don’t post any passwords or usernames as we can’t go into your site, or cPanel, we can’t do anything with the site and you don’t want anyone you don’t know having that info.
