WordPress action/filter hooks before the primary content?

Hey everyone,

I’m quite new to plugin development, and I’m having some trouble trying to find a way of running a function (that calls the plugin) before the primary content of a theme.

Is there a way of doing this using action/filter hooks? I’m not entirely comfortable having to enter a function within the index page every single time.
