• I’ve been playing around with wordpress and I would like to merge the blogging functions with Flash MX buttons, navigation, etc.. I know how to design a site using flash and the basics of using wordpress, but how do you combine the two? Does anyone have any sites that uses both flash and wordpress in their design?
    thanks,

  • i guess all you need to do is make a HTML template/ XHTML template, with 2 blank columns(for the div content tag, and div menu tag), and replace the rap with your navigation and flash template files, then it’s all done
i don’t have the flash template, but mine is with a big image banner(sliced by photoshop), and a few extra navigation buttons. https://blog.arcaneportal.com

I would be importing the data with a custom php file or template that reads in the blog database then handling that data within flash.

creating your menu in flash, well theres hundreds of ways to do that…

heres an example I made of flash reading in from a php file, email me if you would like the file

    Dear all…

It’s time to get moving on this…

I’ve set up a Basecamp account so that anyone who is interested in putting together a WordPress-meets-Flash CMS can get involved, and start talking about the best way to make it happen!

Although the specifics of how it would work aren’t defined yet, I’d basically love to see a WordPress extension that let you manage the text content of a Flash website. It would allow anyone with basic WordPress and Flash skills to hook the two together, without any complex coding.

So… support for static pages, and also posts to allow for blog-style or news sections which were archived, searchable, and maybe even had an rss feed into the bargain.

If you would like to get onboard to discuss the idea further, email me (3stripe[AT]gmail.com), and I’ll set you up with a login.

Look forward to hearing from ya!
