• My client owns a real estate firm and needs to have access to an easy to use content management for his site. On his old site, he had a serverside application to help add content such as property listings. With our new site we have been exploring a free alternative, and I subsequently heard about WordPress. I have already installed WordPress on our GoDaddy server, and now I’m faced with the daunting task of creating a easy to use content management system. Having only ever used CSS and HTML for web design, I am new to PHP and more advanced forms of scripting; So, now I’m coming here for help and advice.

My client is computer illiterate and needs a REALLY simple way of maintaining his real estate listings. GoDaddy tech support referred me to these forums for aid and advice. Any help is welcome!

  • With WordPress, you have the basics taken care of. All you need is a domain-specific extension to handle listings. Luckily, Roger Theriault recently produced just that; it’s called Great Real Estate plugin and has drawn rave reviews from the WordPress community.

Wow! thanks for this invaluable tool!

My only concern now (as of right now) is finding out how to apply this particular Thing to three different subcategories.

My Client would like his listings to be separated by three different subcategories: Commercial, Residential, and Property as seen in here: Property Gallery

Would you suggest setting up the pages according to Roger Theriault’s design and linking the the categories it the link above to their respective WordPress page?

I REALLY do appreciate your time and help.

I suggest you ask Roger; he has a support forum on his site…
