• Hi.

I’ve done a search for this but I must be wording it wrong as I have a hard time believing that I’m the only one with this problem.

Anyhow, whenever I upload new files (photos, etc) WordPress creates a new folder but it’s always the wrong rights set (httpd/755) which in turn leads to subfolders not being created (no access).

I’ve been in contact with my host and they say that this isn’t anything they control and told me to look at WordPress to see if the problem might lie there.

    So, any advice for this?

    TIA!

  • WordPress does not set file permissions.

How are you uploading these files? FTP? Your cPanel?

Something at your host is doing this – not WordPress. If it were so you would not see so many questions from people asking how to change their file permissions after install so they can edit, write, or save work.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll talk to my host again.
