    Hi there everyone!

I have installed my WordPress using Softaculous several times, however, everytime I install it, after logging out to both Softaculous and WordPress (because of course, I have to log out eventually) I am being redirected to https://mywebsite.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmywebsite.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 and in that page, there’s a box that says WordPress Attack Protection. And it is asking me to Enter username: and
Password:, the Password will be The result of math problem. Just something like this:

    Enter username:
Password: The result of math 8+2

But it never worked. Did it many times but failed. I don’t know, what is the problem. Installed WP many times already. I’m at a lost here.

    Other details that might help:
    Domain host: Hostmetro.com
    Installed using: Softaculous
Installed using the latest version of WP.

I think OP of this post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordpress-attack-protection-screen/ have the same problem with mine. But I didn’t know how she solved it because they didn’t say it there.

I cannot upload the picture here but the guy who uploaded this in imgur: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordpress-attack-protection-screen/ have the same problem with mine.

Thank you for your help. I apologize if this is a newbie question. This will be my first blog… Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.

  • Can you give me list of your plugins by name?

Hi Farhad, I had plugins at my first attempts, they were:

    Akismet
    Yoast SEO
    WP Super Cache
    Easy Contact Form
    Pretty Links
    WordFence
Auto Terms Of Service & Privacy Policy (the latest version)

But eventhough I removed them already and tried to do it again from scratch without installing Plugins, the WordPress Attack Protection screen still happens.

So probably, the plugins might not be the problem? I am not sure though. Thanks for the help.

Hi @rdcedro, its work ok now, is fixed?

Check with your host. It may be a security add-on for cPanel or whatever control panel is used.

thank you @farhadvn but that is not my website. But it only shows that if it is not hosted on Hostmetro, then probably it will work fine.

@pidengmor already messaged them a day ago. But no reply just yet.

Hi there everyone. thanks for your help! I was just not checking the View Ticket inside HostMetro itself. (I thought an email would be delivered in an email connected to it.) However, you won’t believe how simple the solution is, it’s funny.

    Hello,

To proceed through the WP attack protection, please leave the username field blank and enter the answer of the math equation as the password. This should then take you to your normal WP login screen.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Why I haven’t tried it?

I’ll be leaving this here so that when others have the same situation, they’ll know the answer.

P.S. I’ll do one more thing. I will uninstall WP again then will install it, install all the plugins, then see if there’s a problem. I’ll let you know. thanks again.

So it is a host feature, good, happy to see it is not a problem in real, ??

Thank you so much rdcedro for the WP Attack Protection solution!!! I spent hours trying to get around it and searching for answers. I finally found it with this post.
    Thanks again,
    Don Cook
