• I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I’ve scoured the ‘net (and WordPress support) for hours and have not found an answer.

I have a WordPress-based portfolio site here and am using Martin Laine’s Audio Player plugin. The player shows up fine in most browsers I’ve tried (FireFox for Mac and Win, Opera for Win, and Chrome for Mac and Win). However, it doesn’t show up in Internet Explorer 8 or Safari 5. Instead, a while box with the following error message shows up:

“Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.” (Go down to the ‘Connecticut tourism’ post to see this, under ‘Radio spot: ‘The Chase’. The message shows up in white. So you must highlight it to see it.)

I downloaded the latest Flash Player and made sure JavaScript was enabled in IE and Safari. So the problem must be something else.

I really appreciate any help you can give, as I’m starting in the advertising biz and need this page to show off my work properly.

BTW: I’ve found out the player also displays fine in Opera for Mac and Safari for Win. It’s only IE 8 and Safari 5 for Mac that mess it up.

I’m on a MacBook running Leopard v. 10.5.8 and Win XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 (via Parallels Desktop v 4).

    Again, I appreciate any help.

I’m having the same problem on my blog.
I found out the player shows for a couple of seconds and disappears. This problem only occurs on the main blog page, when you go the to blog post itself the player shows fine.

The other thing i’ve found out is that youtube video’s have the same problem. They show for a short time and disappear. Vimeo movies do just fine.

Here is my blog: https://www.dewereldverzamelaar.net (its in dutch).
Here you see the example of the audio posts: https://www.dewereldverzamelaar.net/category/geluid/
    And here are the movies:

Have you found a solution yet?
My theme has just switched from jQuery Masonry to Isotope.
