• My host Cyberwurx has tried for a year to figure out why none of my blogs will auto update any longer.

I have had to do each one manually each time whereas this used to be seamless.

I also never had to keep removing the .maintenance file after each individual plugin update.

So what has changed and what can I or my host change to get this back to functioning?

    Thanks!

  • Hello braven1612,
    To troubleshoot the problem:

    • Enable debugging as it may provide a more specific error message.
    • Test with a default theme such as “twenty seventeen.”
    • Try disabling your plugins to see if it will allow you to auto-update.
    • Disable mod_security if possible, or check your mod_security log.

    Hope this helps,
    John-Paul

    Thanks johnpaulb,
I have tried this with various themes, same result on different blogs.
I entered the debug code as instructed in your link and no debug.log appeared in the content directory
    I disabled all the plugins
Not sure what the mod_security is but will look into it.
thanks again, sorry I didn’t see this till now!
