WordPress autoupdate/reset files

  • After few days i didn’t even log in in my websites, today i encountered a big problem on multiple websites.
    Sometimes i wake up and magically part of my code or something i uploaded weeks in the past disappears. There are no auto update enabled on wordpress and plugins, but still somehow i’ve got something changed on the websites.
    There’s something else wordpress does in background with the updates?(Changing code etc)
    There is a way to stop updates in any way? I mean if i want to edit the code of plugins/theme/wp i don’t want wordpress to overload or touch in any way my edits.

  • Some hosting has auto-update features. For example. siteground has this feature where they can update things unless you disable those settings.
