• I’m trying to write a post. In the “Visual” mode, when I try to highlight a “bit” of text to copy or move, the entire page skips down and highlights — it happens in less than a second, so I can’t do any editing in the Visual mode.

I can write in “Text” mode, but when I tried to add a simple code (that I’ve been using for 2 1/2 years) to space my copy: span style=”font-size: 1rem; line-height: 1.714285714;”> That actual text is showing up in the preview — and not spacing. What is going on?

One thing I might try is to set one of the default WordPress themes (twenty-sixteen) as the active theme and see if the problem goes away. There are times when people make mistakes in Themes. You might also try disabling plugins one at a time to see if there are any conflicts.

Another thing that might help is to download and install a fresh copy of the theme (after using the default theme).

Sometimes upgrades (of themes and/or plugins) can mess with things, so Bob’s suggestion of disabling plugins one at a time is a good one.

If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then:
    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging and post the results.
