WordPress Backup and reinstall

  • Is there a plugin or are there instructions available for a complete backup and install on another server.

    I have a working copy on our main server.

    I would like to do a complete backup and then install the backup on another wordpress installation. This is so I can do development work on the site and not screw up the original. And then ultimately install the developed site back the working site.

    Can somebody point me in the right direction.

  • I found no classification for my problem and wound up here so if someone can instruct me on how to go back one version from 3.9 which has messed up my hosted site i would appreciate it.

    kulwant2home: Perhaps your reply was to BTC55 as it is sure not applicable to my problem or maybe everyone is notified of each new post. At any rate I guess only God knows how to take a site back one version. Who ever wrote version 3.9 has ruined my site.     myolddog – That’s why you’re supposed to make your OWN post ?? This is for BTC55 who has a similar, but different, issue. Please do that ??

    (You can overlay the old 3.8.3 files on top of 3.9 if you absolutely must)
