WordPress Blank Page – Newbie Help

  • Hi. Thanks all in advance. I’m a total WordPress Newbie, but am doing my best to learn these hallways. Here’s the deal: I installed Zenon Lite and then installed bbPress and was trying to tweak my Forum and was advised via forum to add a code to my function.php. I added this function, took a look at my website and saw total white page. I can’t even log-in anymore. I went back and deleted the code, saved, and exited, but still white page.

    Then, like an idiot, I went in and deleted my theme via my host (Bluehost), thinking that might solve the trouble, but I’m still “whited-out”. Can’t figure it.

    I read that it’s probably a database error, but I don’t understand what that really means, so….

    Any help greatly appreciated as I’m about to throw this computer and myself through the window.

    try:

    -deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin.

    If you don’t have access to your admin area, try deactivating plugins manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    -switching to the unedited default theme (twentye leven) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

    If you don’t have access to your admin area, then access your server via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    Thanks for the help. I wound up just re-installing wordpress, but now when I go to my forum page, it returns my host “page not found” site. I deleted the sub-domain folder “/forum”, but to no avail.

    Sigh….

    hi all i seem to be having the same problem my web site is running but trying to log in is not. when i do i get a blank page i have it hosted at godady i have researched here in the forums and i have done some of the things other ppl suggested but i still have a blank page its up to date it worked fine be for so i don’t think its a plug in issue but i could be wrong i really don’t want to loose my site by reinstalling it can you help me thank you my site is
