WordPress blog not emailing users

I have 2 WordPress blogs I’m running on my webserver. Neither one will send out any email (ie notify when comments posted and sending users their passwords when registering.) Is there something I’m not doing or setting?

I’m running Fedora Core 2, PHP 4.3.10.
