WordPress Blog Stealing Off My Site

the makers of this software arent responsible for what anyone does with it. Your barking up the wrong tree. Contact the webmaster of that site, or thier host.

There is absolutely nothing that can be done by anyone here

that said, Im betting theyre using feedwordpress or something similar to grab your feeds. IF you have the ability to edit your .htaccess and you can check your server logs, Im guessing you could easily block them from stealing anything else.

I block several sites from grabbing my feeds because I worry about that.

sitescraper plugins suck, imo, and wayy too mnay people come here asking how to populate blogs using them. It always makes me very suspicious.

This issue makes me very happy that I signed up with Typepad. At least there is someone there I can email when I have issues.

Well, if it’s copyrighted material, and they are HOSTED, contact the hosting company. A good host should realize someone explicitly stealing content without any byline or anything, and turn it off.

Additionally, this can happen with any of the blog systems — there are 3rd party tools that’ll feed into any blog.

HTACCESS is the way to go to block hotlinking. And, I agree, if they ARE stealing right from your RSS feed:
1. make the feed excerpt-only
2. HTACCESS block that site from accessing you at all.

Of course, if there is a third-party RSS service that is grabbing your feed, they can then grab from there… thus, not publishing a full feed is the better solution.

Not publishing a full feed is probably the best solution and easiest for me to implement.
