WordPress Blog under possible attack

  • The observations:

    A. URLs changed
    On an irregular basis, the homepage’s url change from the usual https://domain.com/ to https://domain.com/?xadfawe. The numbers after the question mark changes ones a week or twice a day.

    B. Site Crawl Speed Doubled
    According to google webmaster tools statistics, the crawl speed for my website doubled and even tripled throughout the month of March.

    C. Website Statistics
    On 19th of March 2011, my server statistics showed that there were 0 bandwith consumed throughout the day.

    Solutions:
    a. I disabled SSH
    b. Deleted unused FTP accounts
    c. Changed file permission of some 777 files.

    Does anyone have similar experience?
