    I’m not sure I understand your question.

    What The File does not require adding code to your template. Install and activate the plugin and a “What The File” option will be added to your admin bar.

    I thought I had to add code to my template to get breadcrumbs. If not, how do I get breadcrumbs?

    “What the File” is on my admin bar (toolbar?). But I do not have breadcrumbs. What do I do to get breadcrumbs?

    What The File is a plugin that displays per page the PHP files that are used by your theme, it has nothing to do with breadcrumbs. If you’re looking for a plugin that handles breadcrumbs, this is not the plugin you’re looking for.
