• On a free webhost provider I had a website installed using wordpress 3.4 latest version installed, theme twentyeleven via child theme.
Nothing important, just to learn about wordpress.
At a point wordpress wouldn’t update, nor plug ins. And I stopped using wordpress.
Then was wordpress 3.5.1 released. Using ftp I deleted the website folder on the web host.
Uploaded the new wordpress 3.5.1, used twentytwelve theme with child theme.
Here is the question. How is it possible, that parts of pages from the wordpress 3.4 made website,
that was deleted can be found on the wordpress 3.5.1 made pages? From where does fractions of pages of the previous site get into the latter website?
Is it errors coursed be my webhost provider or is it wordpress, that has lots of errors?
I find wordpress buggy, full of errors, is that the general impression of wordpress? Or is it because
I use a free webhost provider?
Now I find it difficult to make the home page without all the default stuff.
    Thanks.

  • When you deleted the WordPress files, did you also remove the database? Wordpres stores it’s settings, pages, content and more in the database, so if you use the same database as you had before, you’ll still have the same content and settings.

I’d beinterested in finding out what you find buggy and full or errors in wordpress? I’ve used it for a long time now and I haven’t had the same. Most of the time “bugs” that people find are more that they haven’t understood how something works in WordPress so if there’s something that you can’t work out let us know and we will try to help!

Thank you catacaustic. The part about database I did not know.Where is the database located? Fx when I had installed 3.51 then the header picture was already there. Where did it come from? The structure of the webhost folders is a mainfolder. In that I have created a subdomain folder, and in that I have uploaded and installed wordpress. Because parts from the previous website turned up in the 3.5.1 website, I also tried to delete the subdomain folder, and create it again, and loacate 3.5.1 in it again. Maybe errors are related to me not knowing how to use wordpress. But fx now it will not make a new static homepage without sidebar etc. If you can tell me how to delete the website in the subdomain folder completely, I can follow that. And then try to reinsall wordpress 3.5.1 once more.

Contact your hosts for assistance with either deleting or emptying your database.
