WordPress can't find my custom theme

  • I download the Classic theme directory, basically made a copy and renamed the directory, then uploaded new directory to my themes/ directory, then I logged into my dashboard, and chose Install Themes.

    I typed in the name of the new directory, but WordPress tells me “no themes found”.

    Why can’t wp find the new directory/theme?
