WordPress categories messed up after a update.

    i didnt notice this until yesterday, but since 3 months ago, when i updated my wordpress, a lot of posts where changed from their respective categories (example: /iphone/) to 2 categories (general and blogroll)
    they also where changed in their permalink, they were not longer
    blog/iphone/name of the post
    they are now:
    blog/general/name of the post

    and that affected me in the serps, double content, etc. what can i do to have all back to normality? i have tried changing manually the categories, but i dont know how to modify the permalink to change /general/ to /iphone/ in the urls!

  • If your permalink structure is set to show the category name all you would have to do is change which category the post is in and the permalink would change accordingly.
