    Hey everyone,

I just made the mistake of setting up my blog on wordpress.com instead of .org. I’ve set up a .org now and set up my web hosting for it on reg-123(I think). The problem is I already had my website and domain (theflyinggoat.co.uk) on reg 123 but set up to the wordpress.com site. I deleted it and the account thinking it would get rid of it and I’m trying to set up the new website on .org but it just takes me to that page saying it doesn’t exist and is already taken (BY ME). I’m a newbie, what should I do?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ross

  • Hi @theflyinggoat! Have you reached out to Reg-123? They may be able to recover your deleted account or guide you towards how to reclaim your domain.

    Hi Lauren,

Just to clarify my reg 123 account is fine, I never deleted that. I only deleted the site and it’s account for wordpress.com.

I may be a little confused, should I still reach out to reg-123?

I see what you mean now. I was the one who was confused! lol. I thought you meant you deleted your 123-reg account.

What you’ll need to do is update your domain’s DNS settings so they point to your new www.ads-software.com site. It looks like your domain’s nameservers are currently pointing to wordpress.com.

I do still suggest reaching out to 123-reg as they will be able to guide you through what your nameservers should be set to in order for your domain to direct to your www.ads-software.com site.
