Hi there! I am a Happiness Engineer at WordPress.com and this recent change is making sites hosted with us using wp-photo-album-plus unresponsive:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 90112 bytes) in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/wppa-utils.php on line 1639

The cause looks to be an infinite loop in wpaa_log(). We are disabling the plugin temporarily on sites reporting the issue to allow them to load again.

    Thanks for taking a look!

    Please try this beta version.
    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wp-photo-album-plus.7.1.03.003.zip

It should not generate recursive logmessages, if detected such – what should not happen – it will be reported on the log in Table VIII-C1 of the Photo Albums -> Settings admin page.

You can safely delete the plugin, and upload this zip and install as if it is a new one.
Removing the plugin will not remove any data or settings.

Pls let me know if this fixes the issue.

Yet a question just for my info: what are the filesystem rights (chmod) on a WordPress.com hosted site on the wp-content dir?

    Fixed 7.1.03

Thanks for your work to fix this. One site updated to this today and still experienced the same issue. I will report back if we have further reports as more sites update.

Should be fixed now in 7.1.04
