Greetings! I am seeing these 2 “critical” errors today, but when I click to view how the files have changed it does not seem malicious. Typically when I see modifications of this nature they are at the “Warning” level and not “Critical” as they are due to plugins adjusting the core files. Is anyone else having this issue?

    WordPress core file modified: wp-includes/compat.php
Change: removed ” * Retrieves the registered autoloader functions. ”

    WordPress core file modified: wp-includes/class-http.php
    Change: removed “* @since 2.7.0 ”

I don’t want to restore the original files unless this is malicious.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi danicalc,
It has the flag “critical” because it’s a modification on WordPress core files, as long as these lines are just comments it’s okay to ignore these issues, knowing that if you downloaded a pure copy of WordPress from here, you will find these lines.

If you aren’t sure who did that, I suggest contacting your web host, it’s not normal at all to have some files modified and you don’t know about that. (even if they are only code comments).

    Thanks.
