• Hi,
I’m looking for a simple step by step (why I’m using GTM4WP in the first place) to try to move from using “GA3” to GA4, using Google Tag Manager. The only custom definitions I’m tracking are author/category/postdate (checkboxes in GTM4WP). I’ve read up on how to import the .json container and add to GTM, but that seems to be focused on ecommerce.
How do I set up GTM4WP/GTM/GA4 to track author/category/postdate?
We use these custom definitions to track pageviews for our authors to pay them (all set up using GTM4WP/GTM/GA3), and I’d like to move forward with GA4 but I don’t want to mess anything up as then they won’t get paid!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Bumping this up, I’m really struggling with how to move to GA4, including the Author, Category, and PostDate variables I’m now tracking in UA. Is there no simple step by step on how to do this? I have been digging through articles both from this plugin and in more general searches, but am coming up blank. I don’t need a lot (any) of eCommerce stuff, just a way to track pageviews by author, category and/or postdate in GA4
