I was writing up a new post on the wordpress dashboard when my router did a reset (might be a coincidence). Once I came back to the dashboard it was all messed up and without any CSS. I replaced the wp-admin and wp-includes folders with fresh ones from a brand new downloaded version of wordpress. I also did that with all the files in the /public_html directory and then re-input the settings into wp-config.php etc. I ended up finding somewhere a snippet of code that I then added into wp-config.php that fixed the css formatting… define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false); … was the code. I then went back into my dashboard but now a lot of the buttons seem to not work. When I click the edit button under a post it tries to load, then does nothing. My address bar says the right address (https://www.blogname.com/wp-admin/edit.php) but it stays on the posts page. I then tried to change back to a standard wordpress theme, I can get to the themes page, but when I try to press the activate button the same thing happens, the address bar is correct but the page goes no where and doesn’t activate anything.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    address is https://www.oattblog.com

Ok, so I know its not my browser or computer. I have tried it on Safari on my MAC, Chrome on my husbands MAC, Chrome and Firefox on our windows PC.

That’s good. I’m hoping that by you continuing to use the process of elimination you can find out where the break is. ??

I was suspecting something to do with the Host.

It may be. Right now it looks like you have an error on your wp-config.php file. Have you manually edited it or let the installer create it for you?

I have done both. I have used the config.php that crazy domains created for me, I have also used the one straight from wordpress and input my new database info. I honestly feel that if I was able to use a different host it would work fine. It’s the only link left that I haven’t/can’t replace.

Sounds like it and GregR71 is also having issues with that host. I am concerned is that it’s not the same problem but it looks like you are doing everything right.

Can you ask your host if they changed something? Sometimes hosts do (boneheaded, really unwise) updates that do bad things to their customers.

If it could be identified what they changed then maybe a work around can be found. Or maybe they’ll undo what they changed.

Ok I have confirmed it is Crazy Domains.
I signed up for a free hosting account (with 000webhost.com) and uploaded all my wordpress stuff and everything works fine.

I’ll have to contact Crazy Domains.
I will report back here with any findings.

Much thanks. I am sure other’s who are experiencing this (such as GregR71) appreciate that.

If you can find out what they did that would be good. But the important thing is to get your site up and running.

I am sharing my experience about the same problem here.
    My link is here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-wordpress-wp-admin-page-looks-like-crashed?replies=11#post-4889413

After waited about 20mins on the hotline. That’s the result.
    I gave them two calls.
One yesterday i got one answer is “Please wait”, that’s a whole day.
Two for today just now what i got is “It’s not our business, You should call for help in Wordpres.org”. They just kick me away!!

Yeah I’m probably going to get my money back and move to another host. Any one got any good suggestions?
I’m waiting for a reply from an e-mail from CD.

do you have any good option? I will going to move too. Thanks

I have used HostGator before and can’t remember having any troubles. It’s a shame to move away from an Australian host but it seems like the best option.

True, It’s a shame they denied on it even without thinking. It’s not a good customer service as well.

Ok so turns out it was something that happened when they were moving or something, it is all fixed now. But I then had a reoccurring problem of pictures above a certain width or height getting stuck on crunching. Last time i fixed it by adding code to config.php but that wouldn’t work this time. I had to email them again and then they upped the php memory and now all works well.
