WordPress dashboard menu is buggy; what to do?

    I just installed a new version of WP on a new subdomain on my development server with a fresh dbase. No themes or plugins installed yet, just a plain WP install. I’ve done this very often, but this time i have problems with the left menu in the dashboard. Some items overlay other items and they jump from one place to another when i hover over it or select one. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/MTy9xfC.

    What to do? Does anyone have an idea?
