• Hello,

I have been trying to clean up our site to see if can make it faster by deleting some assets that are not used through the front end of the site.

One in particular is the WordPress “dashicons”. Suppressing this asset does make a difference on our site when loading pages, but the only plugin that breaks for us when suppressing “dashicons” is ViDEO EMBED & THUMBNAIL GENERATOR. I believe it resides in kgvid_styles.css.

It basically makes the “play circle button” in the middle of the videos disappear breaking the functionality of making the video play or stop.

I was wondering if in there was a way around this, or if you were planing an update in the future not to use “dashicons”.

    Regards,

My plugin uses several of the icons in the dashicons set within the player for the share icons and the cog icon for the resolution switcher, but it uses the smaller VideoJS font for the play button. I’m not sure why disabling dashicons breaks playback though. The VideoJS font has most of what I need so I’ll probably stop loading dashicons in the future. I’ve created an issue on GitHub so you can track my progress on that.

Many thanks Kyle for keeping this plugin alive and well.

    Cheers!
