    my site is now ok without doing anything…

    I am having the exact same problem and I can’t figure out how to fix it! Can someone please help? I’m desperate!!

    A couple different writers were in the middle of trying to post at the same time when all of a sudden we started getting this error message:

    WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from storage engine]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2006-05-06 21:19:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) AND post_status != “attachment” GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 18

    Its showing up on both our website (www.inhabitat.com), and also in the WordPress CMS.

    Any suggestion?

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

    Looks like a MySQL bug:

    https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1711

    A Google search shows that this issue is popping up all over the place.

    This thread found a solution for their problem:
    https://www.webmasterworld.com/forum88/7235.htm

    I was getting a wordpress mysql database error message since 12 midnight May 18th, 2005. I am hosted with Yahoo! I just tried to copy the error message but when I returned to my page to get it, it was apparently fixed. So…my site was down for approximately 14 hrs. I was in the process of posting and changing my sites layout when the error occured. It was yahoo’s fault! Nothing that I did. I guess they fixed it. Alls good in the hood!

    Argh! I received this same exact error message tonight, when I was using the built-in upload feature to upload photos to one of my blog static pages. As soon as I clicked on the Save and Continue Editing button. I’ve had no problem with this feature at all today, until now.

    Now my entire blog is down, and these errors appears everywhere:

    WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from storage engine]
    SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE post_status = ‘static’ ORDER BY post_title ASC

    WordPress database error: [Got error 28 from storage engine]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_post2cat ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id) WHERE 1=1 AND (category_id = 4) AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2006-09-10 06:19:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) AND post_status != “attachment” GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 10

    WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from storage engine]
    SELECT DISTINCT YEAR(post_date) AS year, MONTH(post_date) AS month, count(ID) as posts FROM wp_posts WHERE post_date < ‘2006-09-09 23:19:18’ AND post_date != ‘0000-00-00 00:00:00’ AND post_status = ‘publish’ GROUP BY YEAR(post_date), MONTH(post_date) ORDER BY post_date DESC

    just a friendly nudge to those that might not realize this ..

    If your wordpress blog has been working, that is to say that if youve installed it, and been able to post — AND you have not made any recent changes (adding plugins, editing core files, etc), with errors like these, there’s little anyone can do or say here except, “try to repair the table”, “make sure you have backups”, and/or “contact your host”.

    Coleen, you need to repair your wp_posts table. Use phpmyadmin.

    You’re awesome! I repaired it. Super easy and fast.

    I’m new to MySQL and PHP (always used Blogger blogs in the past), so I wasn’t sure what to do. I am 3 weeks into an Intro PHP and MySQL class, though, so that should help.

    I’m bad though, and haven’t been backing up my blog regularly… so I’ll now make that a daily process.

    Thank you!

    I’m having this same issue. I host on yahoo. I have a blog and a forum using my database and have had them for approximately 2 years. Anyway as of yesterday morning or so both were unreacheable and only the static parts of the site were available. I know I had not changed anything but according to yahoo they were not experiencing any problems (heads up to web hosters yahoo offers almnost no support beside the most basic of problems). Anyway I tried to wait it out since I had not done anything but this went on for a full day.

    To get to the point I tried hitting the repair database link under the tools are that seemed to help some but I still wasn’t able to get to my message board and the access to the blog was intermittent. I had to backups of my database from yesterday, one before repair (i think it runs myisamchk) another post repair. In any case I then tried to restore the database using the link under yahoo’s webhosting which seems to have been a huge mistake. Now every time i get the error “WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from storage engine]” and I cannot access any post on the blog much less my forum (which runs phpBB by the way). I feel so screwed. i think the tables or something are busted but I don’t know sql, etc so I am reduced to requesting backups, repairs, restores, etc through my webhost!

    I saw something about repair your tables using the phpmyadmin or something like that. I used that just a few times when i first set up the database. How easy is it to repair one’s database using this? I REALLY cannot not afford to lose the last 2 years or news, post, etc. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
