WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query

  • I’m using the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin and it’s really good. The only problem is that it gives a lot of errors and this causes Server downtime. My server had more than 1 hours of downtime because of this plugin’s errors. Here is the error log :

  • It generates the sitemaps on the fly. So, naturally, it takes a lot of resources to generate. If you wish, you may cache them, using other tools, such as Nginx or Varnish!

    Are the sitemaps are created at specific intervals ? Is there any way to make the plugin to update sitemaps when a page or post is changed instead of generating at specific intervals ?

    Nope.

    Not at all!

    It generate the sitesmap/s on the fly, when requested (by search engines, for example).

    Oh God, that means it will always create sitemaps. My blog hits with Google bots, Bing Bots all the time. The continuous sitemap creation will make the server down. I report this as a bug or an enhancement to the plugin. Anyways, Is there any other plugin that doesn’t have this problem and is as good as this plugin ?

    I don’t have any recommendations for an alternative. I’m a server-guy. Never been into SEO!
