WordPress database error

  • This is the database error that I am getting on my page…

    WordPress database error: [File ‘./blog/wp_bdprt_hits.MYD’ not found (Errcode: 13)]

    Please tell me how to get rid of it!!! I had my favorite theme up and after going back and editing a previous post after I hit publish and viewed my site my whole page was white with this message. How do I fix it, get rid of it, never see it again!

    I’ve had this happen in the past but no one could help me get rid of it. I am very desperate. I have everything riding on this blog and can’t lose it to some stupid error message.

    The wordpress error message was displayed on my theme before it went white but since I did not know how to get rid of it I just learned to live with it. Why all of a sudden did it cause my site to go blank? I changed the theme so that you can see my blog now, but you can still kinda see the code in the corner overlapping my graphic. I would prefer to go back to my old theme and eliminate the error message all together.

    Please someone, anyone offer me some advice on how to resolve this issue.

    BTW…I use wordpress 2.0.2.

  • Contact your host ASAP whenever you get a “numbered” error… like

    Yahoo is my host and even though they offer to install wordpress they say that they can’t offer any sort of support and that I should come over here for answers. The only advice yahoo would give me was to erase everything and start over. I can’t do that because I have 3 years worth of site info built up. I make money off of my site and ppl depend on me to write reviews for them.

    What should I do? Is there anything that I can do to fix it??

    Guess you could try disabling the plugin that is causing the write to the wp_bdprt_hits.

    pretty much says this is a permission problem. Since your host is not going to help you, I would make sure I have a backup of the MySQL database that houses your WordPress tables. Also backup your wordpress file.

    Then I would acquire another host and restore that backup and files to the new host.

    I deactivated a lot of plugins that I had stopped using, and somehow that fixed the errcode 13. I am not sure what plug in it was. But even though I got the error message to disappear my previous theme [that i love] still doesn’t work even after deleting and reinstalling it. I don’t know what else to do to get it to come back. So, I changed my theme to a different one, reluctantly. You can go check out my site to see what it looks like now if you would like…

    looks to me like there was some sort of stats counter (with a posible embeded code in the theme) I recognize “HITS” in the database Name and the IP address in the values…

    The table name might hold a clue to the culprit plugin:
    BDPRT “BadPort” “BDPrint” “Bob&Daves-PortRiverTavern”

    Just a thought… If you look through the template files for the theme you really really like, and see a PHP reference to a BDPRT something or other, try commenting it out and see if your theme comes back into existance.
