• Helps from concerned expert,

I’m new wordpress and working with my pc in wampserver 2 as a localhost which database name : ‘wordpres’ username : ‘root’ password: ‘123’

I got backup the database to upload my web server cpanel database but there is problem in database name, user name, password. They don’t allow that name/password. They allow as database name : ‘U5235488_’ user name : ‘ U5235488_’

But how to change that in my cpanel database?

    Thanks for help.

  • The settings for:
    – Database name
    – datrabase user name
    – database user password
All belong in the wp-config.php of each site, these settings DO NOT appear within the wordpress database, they are ONLY in the wp-config.php file. The usual practice is to just accept that this file is different between the live site and the localhosted site, all other files are the same, there may be other differences in the config file because of debugging or access issues, this is normal. It is possible to create the database in your localhost with the same settings as the live site, but I don’t go to this trouble.

You can upload and download database snapshots, transfer between live and local, there is no need to fix your problem.

Depending upon your setup, you may have differences in the “site address” and “WordPress address” between live and local, there are various ways of dealing with this.
