WordPress Database Update Required issue

I am using WordPress 4.2.2. I want to update with latest version(4.6.1) .
I have followed the manual installation steps after that it asked Database update required when i click on the “Database Update” it taking too much time and finally it shows error like Fatal error :maximum time exceed 5000 seconds wp-db.php

Note: Please reply me as soon as possible
