wordpress DB optimise

  • How to optimize wordpress db to make it faster and stable ?
    Current issue : Very slow (25-40 second per search) on search and some time post page loading very slow too …..

    Hosting spec :
    Dedicated.
    Xeon 2.8 x 4
    8gb ecc ram
    No issue with the server, load average and ping latency is 20-30 ms.

    WordPress : wordpress 2.9.2
    Post : 500000 (five hundred thousand post)
    Tag : 5 million tag.
    Traffic: average 6k UV and 20k impression.
