I have looked around and done some testing with your plugin.

My question is just to be sure before I transfer everything from NextGen to the MaxGalleria….

Once I have transferred all the images and placed them into galleries…
will they be searchable by the default wordpress search?
Can I use Shortcodes to place the galleries and be searchable?
Will the search pull up individual tags of images, or does it only display the page/full gallery that has that tag within it?

Basically I am just wanting to make sure that the images are searchable and if the search only finds 2 items with a certain tag/name that it pulls those 2 images not the whole page that contains the tag.

    Thank you for your help

Ok, in MaxGalleria you can make use of categories and tags. Now these are not normally searchable, but you can install the plugin Search Everything which can be configured to include categories and tags in the searches. Then your galleries would be searchable.
