Strange. The site renders fine in IE8, in user mode and in admin mode. I don’t know why this is.

    2ninerniner2,

Thanks for the heads-up. I used FileZilla to modify my folder and file permissions…no effect on the admin display/banding issue.

I’d like to know more about the free hosting/ad problem at GoDaddy since that’s where we (I) planned to do my testing and debugging. Would you refer me to your information source? I’ll search the forum of course.

Should this issue remain unassailable, I’ll have to find another way to test our e-commerce setup without disturbing our current site.

    Many thanks,
    -Eric

Here are a couple items from the GD help / knowledge base:

NOTE: The automatic install described below will not work on free hosting accounts. WordPress needs to be manually installed on free hosting accounts, however, certain WordPress features may not work correctly in the ad-supported environment.

NOTE: If your website contains certain advanced features, such as ASP, ASP.NET, CGI, or PHP applications and you select a hosting plan that does not support those advanced features, your website may no longer function properly after the plan change. Please make sure your website does not contain advanced features BEFORE moving to a plan that may not support them or be prepared to modify your Web content accordingly.

If all you want to do is testing/debugging and already have a paid account, then just install WP in a sub directory ?? Heck, I’ve got at least a dozen WP, Joomla, Drupal, eFront installs running on a GD shared Linux plan ??

Note: those who wish to continue to use free godaddy hosting will find many .php file edits upon searching the forum for “free godaddy hosting,” in order to work around the ad insertion issue. (The cause of all my headaches.)

I’m going to move our development effort to the paid side in order to skip the ad hassle.

    Best of luck,
    -Eric
