• I have a simple question that maybe somebody can help me with. It is more of a DNS question than WordPress. I have successfully setup WordPress on my own Windows XP machine, and have a domain name registered through GoDaddy. I setup WordPress using the simple xp method.

My question is: I forwarded the domain at godaddy to the ip address of my router, and parked the domain using GoDaddy’s DNS… was this the incorrect way to point to my website locally? I assume I have to put some DNS servers or CNAME entries in to get this to work properly?

Right now, it looks as if it is forwarding correctly, but I get a “The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.” error message when attempting to access my blog from outside my network. Please note, I have also opened port http/https for my machine. What is the start page for the blog index.php? Thanks for your assistance.

    Brad
