• Hello

I see that WordPress doesn’t return 404 for non-existent numbered sub-pages of pages.

For example, I have a page site.com/about on my site.

Now, even if I visit site.com/about/2, which doesn’t exist, WordPress returns site.com/about for that request.

In other words, the requesting entity will never know that site.com/about/2 doesn’t exist.

    Please get this fixed!!

    Regards

    Vijay Padiyar

  • Hi Vijay, have you found some solution to this problem? It’s still present on WP 3.4.2…

Nope, no fix yet. This is a big problem because anyone can mess up a site’s SEO by adding links to non-existent pages on that site, which won’t return 404 due to this bug.
