• I”m sorry to say this, but I have installed wordpress 2 times, on 2 different sites, and I just can’t figure out a way to post anything on those sites. WordPress is supposed to be a blog, that let’s you post whatever you want to say, but I can’t find a post button anywhere. Maybe I have to install a plugin (whatever that is, I just don’t know what to do)

  • See Posts. There’s a stack of other useful resources on the Codex too.

Have you tried logging into the admin area of the site? you have to be logged in and in the dashboard to post content.

Right you are!!!! I have done that, but how can OTHER people post to your blog??????

What do you mean by other people? Like other users as authors? Or people leaving comments?

You have got to be kidding… Not everything is point and click. Some things require at least a minimum amount of effort on the operators part.

WordPress is not an iPod. Take some time to learn how to navigate and manipulate the features of your blog, and it will become a rewarding and fulfilling experience. I guarantee it

    First Steps With WordPress

What davidabauer means is that the user dashboard doesn’t have any link to publish posts. Mine doesn’t have it either, and I don’t know how to make it work. Here is the page: pirveli llc, you may try, I’d appreciate.

Only registered users with Editor or Admin status can publish posts on your blog.

Good. And how I make them able to register as such? I test-ran a couple of accounts, but cannot see any options available like Editor Status. Can I enable every user with Editor clearance from my main Admin?

Maybe it needs a Plugin or something?

I would strongly advise against allowing people to register as Editors on your blog without some sort of moderation.

    Change “New User Default Role”

You can also change the role of existing users.

Yeah, I get it now, thanks

One more question: I installed a status updates plugin, and created status too, but cannot figure out how to create the status page so there would be a link to it as to any other page

Nika1111 – Really you should make your own topic for this. What plugin? Can you link to it? We’re not going to troll through 50k plugins to find one ??

It’s Service Status by Mediaburst Ltd. Well, I have given up on it anyway. Fighting other issues now.
