    Hello Everyone,

A while back I was developing a ton of freelance sites on top of WordPress. To help the development process I made a very simple script that allowed me to move the code and database from one domain/server to another (dev, preview, production).

Later I developed that simple script into a solution that can be downloaded and ran by anyone looking to change their main site’s domain name. I have a write up on the current release here: https://dan.doezema.com/2010/04/wordpress-domain-change

Recently I’ve started working on a new branch aimed at providing migration for Multi-Site WordPress installs.

I’d like to make a request to anyone who has a multi-site (or standard) WordPress install to test this new branch and give any feedback on possible issues, improvements, or extra options.

I’ve tested this script out on a fresh WordPress 3.0.1 install with multisite enabled and 3 separate sites — It seems to be working properly. However, that is the limit of my multi-site experience and I don’t really have a good idea of what the multi-site community needs and/or wants.

This is an open source project hosted on GitHub here: https://github.com/veloper/WordPress-Domain-Changer

Please switch to the “wordpress_mu_support” branch and give it a shot (after backing up your database).

I might suggest that you try making a copy of your current multi-site install database and files, setting up a new virtual host, then giving this script a go to see if it successfully migrated everything over to that new domain.

If you don’t feel like forking the project on GitHub.com, making the changes, and then sending a pull request please just contact me here or via https://dan.doezema.com

Thank for your time and/or interest.
