    Hi, I’m setting up a site with WordPress 3.7.1.

    I was using the Duena theme (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/duena) but I started to notice problems with the TinyMCE inner editor options window displaying a 404 error page. I was using WP Easy Columns; click on the button in the editor and up pops a 404 error page and not the options for WP Easy Columns.

    I have now turned off all plugins and moved to the official WordPress 2012 theme but I still have the same problem. Click on the help button in the editor and up pops the inner editor window and showing a 404 error page. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

  • What version are you using? The most current version of Easy Columns shouldn’t have this issue.

    Hi Pat, I like your plugin and just want to say many thanks.

    I don’t think WP Easy Columns is the problem. I also had Google Doc Embedder installed and again the options window would show a 404 error page.

    The path in the editor options window is somehow corrupted in it’s default setting with no plugins installed. With no plugins installed, if I click on the TinyMCE help button I get the 404 error page.

    OK just in case anyone else has this issue.
    Mine was caused by some spurious coded added to the .htaccess file in the wp-includes/ directory. I don’t know how it got there but when I deleted
    <Files *.php>
    deny from all
    </Files>
    <Files wp-tinymce.php>
    allow from all
    </Files>
    things started working again.
